INSOL Lenders Group, Australia

Following the very successful meeting of lenders at the INSOL 2005 Congress in Sydney, it was established that there was sufficient interest and purpose in forming a Lenders Group in Australia.

The inaugural meeting of that Group was held in Sydney on 7 November 2005.

Membership of the Lenders Group is open to those employed with financiers and is via membership of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia.

INSOL Lenders
Group Mission Statement

To provide an effective forum for lending institutions to encourage and develop cross -border support, co-operation and communication in corporate rescues outside formal insolvency processes.

Through this forum, to act as an effective conduit between INSOL and its members, and lending institutions, such that new developments, best practices and/or cross - border experiences can be shared with other institutions, thereby enhancing/improving the methodology in future situations.

To improve lenders’ understanding and awareness of cross-border pre-insolvency and post-insolvency issues.

To promote cross - border co-operation and corporate rescues.

To develop common views and principles on key issues such as co-ordination, information, liquidity, stability and voting.

To provide a forum for establishing global contacts.

To encourage consistency of approach in cross - border workouts.

To share and exchange views on country/market issues and impact on workouts.

To communicate with Central Banks, Regulators, Banking and other Associations with an interest in cross - border co-operation.
