Established in 1979, the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) is the national professional association representing nearly 1400 members and associates working in the insolvency and restructuring system. CAIRP members have earned the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation and most are Licensed Insolvency Trustees (LIT) providing insolvency and restructuring services to consumers and businesses who experience financial challenges.

CAIRP advances the interests of its members and the public by:
• promoting excellence among members,
• providing relevant professional development,
• establishing and enforcing CAIRP’s Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Professional Practice,
• maintaining rigorous certification standards and providing innovative education to aspiring insolvency and restructuring professionals, and
