With businesses operating in a global market, restructurings and insolvencies have increasingly become a cross-border affair. Whether based in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay or the United States, cross-border restructurings create challenges for all stakeholders, whether senior lenders, bondholders, equity sponsors, general unsecured creditors, employees and –last but not least- the government. INSOL's seminar in Buenos Aires on 10 November 2011 will provide you with the insights of some of the region's leading experts on cross-border insolvencies. Topics to be covered include the role of governmental regulators (of great importance in Latin America) in cases such as the Chapter 11 of General Motors, the use of post-insolvency or "DIP" financing, the increasingly prominent role of turnaround professionals in the region and, in a panel comprised of leading judges from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and the United States, how judges in multiple jurisdictions work together and coordinate these complex, multi-national cases.

Other speakers will include leading attorneys and advisors who have worked on some of the largest and most complex insolvencies in Latin America and the United States. They will share their experiences with you and provide their insights on many of the issues that arise in the context of trying to accomplish a restructuring of a multi-national company or even a rapid and orderly liquidation.
