Mr. Juan Salazar Calero
Juan Fernando Salazar is a practicing lawyer with significant experience in commercial and insolvency law, company crisis, as well as relevant litigation, based in Cali, Colombia. He served as insolvency judge at the Superintencency of Companies. In that position, he was also in charge of supervision of corporations and other business associations in southwestern Colombia. Juan has worked as recovery attorney for several Colombian financial institutions where he represented creditors before the courts in civil and insolvency procedures. Since 2005, Juan has also been professor of law at two universities in his hometown, Cali. Currently he teaches commercial law, negotiable instruments, company law and insolvency law at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana as adjunct professor. In this same university, he was chair of the Department of Law and Political Sciences. Juan previously taught e-commerce law at the Faculty of Law of San Buenaventura University. He has conducted research in the areas of corporate, securities and commercial law, insolvency and information technologies. Juan holds a law degree from San Buenaventura University and an LL.M. from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. He also holds two postgraduate diplomas in commercial and financial law.
