Programme in South African Business Rescue
The Programme in South African Business Rescue (the SARIPA Business Rescue Course) is a new course that is being presented for the first time in 2023. The course has a well-balanced approach between theory and practice and candidates will be taken through the entire business rescue process, including (but not limited to) the completion of statutory forms, passing resolutions and bringing applications for placing a company in business rescue, understanding financial forecasts in the context of business rescue, drafting business rescue plans and dealing with related aspects. The course covers all aspects of business rescue and also covers compromises in terms of section 155 of the Companies Act 2008. The SARIPA Business Rescue Course is not only aimed at South Africans, but is also available to be completed by persons from outside South Africa.
The materials to be used on the course have been drafted by experts in practice and academia, and these same experts present the live lectures. These experts include well-known names such as Dr Eric Levenstein (Werksmans), Emeritus Professor Anneli Loubser (UNISA), Mr Tobie Jordaan (Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr), Mr Buhle Duma (Fluxmans), Mr Dawie van der Merwe (BDO), Ms Nastascha Harduth (Werksmans), Mr Christopher Rey (BDO), Ms Lara Kahn (Webber Wentzel), Mr John Evans (RS Advisors), Ms Juliette de Hutton (Bowmans), Mr Peter van den Steen (Metis Strategic Advisors), Mr Phahlani Mkhombo (Genesis Corporate Solutions), Ms Jo-Anne Mitchell-Marais (Deloitte), Ms Alison Timme (EY-Parthenon), Mr Stefan Smyth (EY-Parthenon), Mr Gerhard Rudolph (Allen & Overy), Mr Richard Bradstreet (University of Cape Town) and Mr Colin Strime (Fluxmans).
