Jasper Berkenbosch is an attorney-at-law of the restructuring team of DLA Piper. He was born and raised in the Netherlands. After graduating from Utrecht University (Civil Law) and Cambridge, UK, St. John's College (European Law Degree) he started his career with Allen & Overy in 1998, first in the Banking & Finance practice with a focus on restructurings and insolvency, subsequently as associate in the M&A practice. In 2001 and 2002 he was lecturer for one day a week at University of Utrecht (property law/practical civil law). From 2003 Jasper has worked with Pels Rijcken within the general corporate/litigation department and from then on he has been frequently appointed as insolvency practitioner by the court. At present Jasper is acting as joint trustee in the cross-border insolvencies of BenQ Mobile Holding B.V. and BCCI S.A. (Dutch branch). In his spare time he likes to do sports, visit pubs, cruise his boat on the Amsterdam canals, and play with his two children; things which are not always easy to combine.
