1. Introduction
Asia Gold supports INSOL’s role in strengthening Asia’s restructuring and insolvency ecosystem through judicial engagement, academic collaboration, legislative dialogue and regional knowledge exchange. Asia Gold sits alongside INSOL’s global sponsorship framework, including the G36. It does not replace or diminish global initiatives and is not a pay-to-play program.
2. Why Asia Gold
The development of restructuring and insolvency systems across Asia remains uneven, with many jurisdictions facing limited academic infrastructure, constrained judicial exposure to comparative practice, and evolving legislative and regulatory frameworks.
Asia Gold enables regional firms to collectively support sustained institutional engagement across these jurisdictions.
3. What Asia Gold Supports
- INSOL’s activities in Asia at platform level across the year, including judicial training and exchange, academic development and research initiatives, legislative and regulatory dialogue, regional forums, and participation support for stakeholders from priority jurisdictions.
- Activities that align with INSOL’s existing special interest groups and institutional partners.
4. Geographic Focus
Asia Gold prioritises less-developed Asian jurisdictions using the Asian Development Bank’s country classification as an objective reference point, ensuring support is directed where institutional development needs are greatest while retaining flexibility for regional initiatives.
5. Structure and Eligibility
- Asia Gold operates as a small, capped cohort with a single participation tier.
- Contributions are SGD 15,000 or USD 12,000 per year.
- Funds are centrally accounted for within INSOL and operationally managed by the Asia Hub.
- Eligibility is limited to regional firms whose primary operations, leadership and professional identity are rooted in Asia.
- Firms operating as part of global integrated partnerships or Swiss Verein structures will not ordinarily be eligible.
6. Use of Funds
- All contributions are ring-fenced and applied solely to INSOL activities in Asia or initiatives with a strong Asia focus or impact.
- Funds are not used to subsidise INSOL’s global operations or one-day seminar programs, which continue to offer separate sponsorship opportunities, nor to seminars or events that are under exclusive or single-sponsor arrangements.
7. Recognition and Engagement
- Supporters receive platform-level recognition across INSOL’s activities in Asia, including acknowledgement on the INSOL website, program slides, and the INSOL Annual Report.
- Firms are listed individually by name in alphabetical order without tiers or differentiation.
- An annual consultative Asia Gold Forum will provide updates and discussion of regional developments.
8. What Asia Gold Does Not Include
- The program does not provide guaranteed speaking roles, influence over agendas or program content, or governance authority.
- All program design and speaker selection remain strictly merit-based.
9. Governance and Reporting
Asia Gold operates within INSOL’s existing governance framework. Supporters receive transparency through an annual Impact Report summarising activities supported, jurisdictions engaged and use of funds.
10. Joining Asia Gold
Asia Gold offers regional firms a principled opportunity to support the continued development of restructuring and insolvency systems across Asia through partnership with INSOL.
