We are pleased to launch Asian Insolvency Spotlight: The Next Generation — a fresh, dynamic vlog series designed to amplify the voices of young restructuring and insolvency (R&I) professionals from across Asia.

This quarterly series brings together emerging leaders — lawyers, accountants, and academics — for engaging, podcast-style discussions on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations shaping the world of R&I. It’s a platform to spark ideas, share experiences, and showcase the rising talent shaping the industry.

In this final episode of the series, the spotlight is on Midori Yamaguchi (Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, Tokyo, Japan), Judge Kihong Kim (Seoul Southern District Court, South Korea), and Germaine Lim (Kroll, Singapore), bringing Japan, South Korea and Singapore, all UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency jurisdictions in Asia into one discussion 

The conversation moves between recognition practice, early engagement tools, and execution realities, with each guest bringing a different perspective in the system to the table.

Moderated by Danny Quah, who keeps the discussion disciplined and focused, while drawing out the links between regional practice and broader cross-border trends.

In the next episode, the spotlight shifts to Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand – each operating within a civil law system but facing different realities in how restructuring and insolvency processes takes shape. Logan Leung, Calvin Wiranata Ng, and Yada Yuwataepakorn share what’s driving developments on the ground.
