Introduction
This short course is designed to provide relatively in-depth knowledge and practical insights into the world of asset tracing and recovery for the restructuring and insolvency professional. The course will focus on gaining a solid understanding of the key concepts, strategies and trends in these dynamic fields. The course is presented over six months, from 1 October to 31 March each year.
Course objectives
- Understand key issues in asset tracing and recovery;
- Analyse trends impacting asset tracing measures;
- Evaluate asset tracing measures;
- Address challenges related to crypto-assets;
- Understand international frameworks and efforts for addressing cross-border asset tracing and recovery challenges; and
- Evaluate the measures aimed at addressing these complex issues.
Duration
The Short Course in Asset Tracing and Recovery for the Restructuring and Insolvency Professional is presented over a period of six (6) months, from 1 October to 31 March of each year.
The course consists of two live sessions and nine (9) prerecorded sessions.

Entry criteria
The entry criteria for this course are as follows:
- a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in restructuring and insolvency as evidenced in an applicant’s curriculum vitae (CV); and
- proficiency in English;* and
- access to appropriate internet facilities (for downloading material and the streaming of videos).
* INSOL International retains the right to request an IELTS or TOEFL certificate of proficiency where it appears that an applicant’s English proficiency may be inadequate for the purposes of completing the course.
Please note that the recipients of a bursary under this scheme will be required to pay a refundable deposit of £500 when enrolling. This deposit is refundable to the applicant on condition that they engage with and complete the programme.
Bursary Applications
The dates during which applications for bursaries can be made are between 1 October and 7 October 2026. Applications received before or after these dates will not be considered. Successful applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 14 October 2026.
