Programme in South African Business Rescue
The Programme in South African Business Rescue (the SARIPA Business Rescue Course) is being presented for the third time in 2025. The course has a well-balanced approach between theory and practice and candidates will be taken through the entire business rescue process, including (but not limited to) the completion of statutory forms, passing resolutions and bringing applications for placing a company in business rescue, understanding financial forecasts in the context of business rescue, drafting business rescue plans and dealing with related aspects. The course covers all aspects of business rescue and also covers compromises in terms of section 155 of the Companies Act 2008. The SARIPA Business Rescue Course is not only aimed at South Africans, but is also available to be completed by persons from outside South Africa.
The materials to be used on the course have been drafted by experts in practice and academia, and these same experts present the live lectures. These experts include well-known names such as Dr Eric Levenstein (Werksmans), Emeritus Professor Anneli Loubser (UNISA), Mr Tobie Jordaan (Bowmans), (Mr Buhle Duma (Fluxmans), Mr Dawie van der Merwe (BDO), Ms Nastascha Harduth (Werksmans), Mr Christopher Rey (BDO), Mr John Evans (RS Advisors), Ms Lara Kahn (Webber Wentzel), Ms Juliette de Hutton (Bowmans), Mr Peter van den Steen (Metis Strategic Advisors), Ms Jo-Anne Mitchell-Marais (Deloitte), Ms Alison Timme (Kroll), Mr Stefan Smyth (Kroll), Mr Gerhard Rudolph (Allen & Overy), Mr Malachaizodok Mpolokeng (DLA Piper), and Mr Colin Strime (Fluxmans).
The next intake on the SARIPA Business Rescue Course will commence their studies on 1 March 2025 and registrations for this intake opened on 1 October 2024. The duration of the course is 10 months and will be presented completely online.
