Sophia Rolle-Kapousouzoglou is a partner in Lennox Paton’s Commercial Litigation department and a member of the Firm's Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Insolvency Group. Sophia represents liquidators, receivers, creditors, and investors in all aspects of complex corporate restructuring and has been involved in cross-border insolvency cases and applications for recognition proceedings on behalf of Liquidators. Sophia appears regularly in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of The Bahamas and has also appeared as Junior Counsel in the Privy Council relating to an application on behalf of an agent of an investor in a Bahamian Mutual Fund seeking to set aside an application for service of a clawback claim outside of the jurisdiction. Sophia’s practice includes advising clients with respect to various contentious commercial disputes. Sophia has a broad range of experience and has represented clients in multi-jurisdictional and local cases and was involved in several notable insolvency and bankruptcy cases in The Bahamas including the Baha Mar Companies Liquidation and Receivership, the Liquidation of Caledonian Bank including the recognition of the foreign court appointed liquidators and the subsequent ancillary liquidation, the ZCM Asset Holding Company and AWH Fund Liquidation, and the Bankruptcy of Sir Anthony O’Reilly.
