John "Jock" Baird was admitted to the Bar in May 2008. He has practised as a barrister from 8^th Floor Windeyer Chambers, Sydney since then, specialising in commercial litigation of all types. Main areas of practice include equity, corporations law, insolvency including cross-border insolvency, trade practices, banking law, contract, fraud, building and construction cases, mediation and arbitration. Member of INSOL Small Practices Sub-Committee. Accredited Mediator NMAS – appointed to Supreme Court and District Court Lists of Mediators

Prior to 2008 he was a litigation partner at Kemp Strang, Solicitors, Sydney for 22 years and was an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation. Areas of practice included insolvency and reconstruction, equity, banking law and building and construction law. He was a Committee member of Banking and Financial Services Law Association and ARITA (NSW). He was admitted as a solicitor in 1979.
