Rita is an Associate Partner with Ligomarc Advocates in the Insolvency and Restructures Department. She joined the firm as an Associate in November, 2010. Before then she worked with Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited and as a Research Assistant at the faculty of Law, Makerere University. She leads a team that advises on the full spectrum of insolvency and other related matters in East Africa. Under this mandate Rita is also responsible for developing and implementing the departmental strategic plan.

Rita also works with the Departmental Partner to handle consultancies relating to Insolvency. The most recent consultancy is on the Implementation of the Insolvency Act 2011. Rita also develops and conducts customized trainings for the Firm and its clients on Debt Management, Law on Mortgages together with Uganda Insolvency Act and Regulations.

She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, a Member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Makerere University Kampala and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Centre. In December 2020, she completed her Master of Science in Finance and Financial Law at the SOAS, University of London.
