Jeffrey Oliver is a partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency Group at Cassels in Calgary, Canada. Jeffrey routinely acts for lenders, court-appointed officials (receiver, monitors, trustees), landlords, purchasers, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors and directors. He advises clients on corporate reorganisations, bankruptcies, receiverships, foreclosures, lease realisations and loan workouts, including on cross-border insolvencies and realisations. He is also experienced in secured and unsecured financings, including interim and takeout financing within insolvency proceedings and securitisation within forbearance arrangements.

Jeffrey recently acted on behalf of Grant Thornton Limited in the landmark Supreme Court of Canada decision in Redwater Energy Corporation.

Jeffrey is a Fellow of INSOL International and is recognised as a leader in his field by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, Chambers Canada and Best Lawyers in Canada and as an Insolvency “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation.
